The Mpumalanga Tourism Expo is a premier annual event hosted each September in the scenic Mpumalanga Province of South Africa. Celebrating Tourism Month, the Expo plays a vital role in promoting domestic tourism, showcasing the region’s rich travel experiences, and encouraging regional collaboration.

The tourism expo was initiated in 2021 at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The exhibition serves as a platform for promoting various tourism products and services. It acts as a catalyst for the recovery and growth of the sector.
Additionally, the event offers an opportunity for provincial tourism students to engage with exhibitors, enhancing their understanding of tourism and providing a firsthand experience of ‘tourism in action.
The 2026 tourism expo is taking place from September Friday, 25th (12h00 – 17h00), Saturday, 26th (09h00 – 17h00) and Sunday,27th (09h00 – 15h00) at Riverside Mall in the City of Mbombela, located in the Mpumalanga Province.

More than 70 exhibitors from South Africa and regional Africa attends the expo to showcase a variety of tourism products and services.

In 2025, the event garnered attention from 18 prominent media outlets representing both the Mpumalanga and Gauteng provinces.
Job Creations
The Expo has not only generated 55 direct job positions but has also catalysed the emergence of 120 additional indirect jobs.
About The Venue
The Mpumalanga Tourism Expo is hosted at the Riverside Mall in the City of Mbombela in Mpumalanga. The Riverside Mall is the biggest shopping mall in the province and attracts an average of over 20 000 shoppers on a monthly basis. The event is organised by Jakada Holdings (PTY) LTD in partnership with the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency.
